Journal to the Self: Twenty-Two Paths to Personal Growth – Open the Door to Self-Understanding by Writing, Reading, and Creating a Journal of Your Life

by Kathleen Adams

I had not done a lot of journaling prior to reading this book. I didn’t realize there were so many different ways to journal. What I liked most about this book was the way Adams presented specific techniques for journaling and how to choose a technique that fits my individual needs. She demonstrated these tools as a way to work through problems and life-issues, and achieve results.

Life’s Companion: Journal Writing as a Spiritual Quest

by Christina Baldwin

Life’s Companion is an excellent book to learn how to journal. Baldwin included spiritual quotations, writing exercises, and proposed questions and techniques to assist the reader in developing a style that explores their inner most thoughts and feelings. I enjoyed this book more than any other “journaling” book because of the format. I used many of the techniques for my own personal growth.
